What: A cool bar, with friendly potentially English speaking staff, live bands.

I spent two nights at this bar when I was rocking out in Jejudo and was very impressed with the layout, and the fact that it had a pool table, which is only halfway under the light and crooked as a seaman without shore leave. I fell in love at once. So much goodness. We were there on open mic night, and almost everyone in the bar had a turn (except me, I am tone-deaf).

In short, a good bar, good prices and a lot of fun.

How much: 6,000 won for 500cc 

With a brewery on site, Oktoberfest (Gangnam Station exit 5, second left, look for a wooden-looking one story shack with a yellow sign) is one of my favorite watering holes in Seoul. Friendly English speaking staff, and excellent selection of bottled beer, and did I mention, their own brewery on site? 

As you probably gathered from the name, they have 4 german style beers on tap. For a person like me who doesn't drink that often, I recommend the Radler (about 6,000 won for 500cc) which has a large amount of lemonade in it. Sure it's girly, but come on, I'm in Korea, who's going to see me? The food is decent (I recommend the Kimchi and Sausage platter, about 24,000 won), but it is a tad pricey, even for Gangnam. 

Get there early on Friday and Saturday nights as it fills up fast!
